Artists of all skill levels, from ages 12 to 15, are welcome to join this 5-day Intensive to learn dynamic sketching techniques, including basic linear perspective, and how to draw from observation "en plein air!"
This class is collaboratively designed, based upon each student's individual skill level and interest, and as such class size is limited. So don't hesitate to reserve your seat!

Toned Sketchbook, in either tan or grey, at least 9" x 12" or larger (Strathmore series 400 toned sketchbooks are an accessible option)

Fineliner Felt Tip Pen, Technical Pen, Fountain Pen, Dip Pen, or Brush Pen - You'll want to pick one of these and stick with it throughout the course. If you are a complete beginner to the media of pen and ink, I would suggest starting out with Sakura Pigma Microns in size 01, 02, 03.

White Gel Pen, Marker, and/or Pencil Crayon - I will have some white pencil crayons and china markers available for purchase (Best options include: Sakura Gelly Roll Pen, White POSCA Marker, China Marker, and pencil crayons from Blick Studio, Faber-Castell, or Prismacolor)

Grey Copic Markers or Grey Pencil Crayons - Get cool grey if you'll be working in a grey sketchbook, and warm grey if you'll be working in a tan sketchbook. You'll want at least three shades (light, medium, dark) if you go with markers, and up to 6 shades if you go with pencil crayons.

May beginners join this program?
Yes! My classes cover art fundamentals, which means they are an excellent foundation for the artist who is just learning to draw and paint. The assignments will challenge more experienced artists, as well.
And class size is limited to ensure every student will receive individual feedback and instruction.
What will I learn?
You will be inspired by master painters and illustrators of the past, and given practical assignments to empower you to put into practice what you are learning by drawing from reference, life, and imagination!
Where is the class located?
In my home studio, located in the heart of St. Stephen, New Brunswick! The exact address will be sent to you after you register.
When is it?
9 am - 4 pm, M - F
How is the day structured?
There will be a morning session and an afternoon session, each lasting three hours, with an hour for lunch in between.
I am a parent, and I would like to attend the class to learn with my teen. Would that be possible?
Absolutely! Depending on the age and maturity level of your child, you might consider enrolling both of you in the adult intensive instead.
